]]>“Hey, you guys! I’m backstage in Louisiana and I’m at rehearsal about to kick off my tour and our next show is in Houston. I know that there have been rumors on whether we were gonna do the show in Houston,” the 51-year-old singer said in a video post. “I’m here to tell you that we are doing the show in Houston. But we’re gonna roll in early because we want to visit some of the shelters.”
“We also want to do something special for the victims,” she continued. “So I will see you Friday.”
Jackson will perform in 56 cities across North America from September to December as part of her State of the World concert tour. The show kicks off Thursday in Lafayette, Louisiana and will conclude in Atlanta, San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
According to ET, many artists decided to postpone their concerts after safety concerns arose prior to the hurricane. Jackson is one of many celebrities who have helped out victims following Harvey’s extreme flooding in Texas and the Gulf Coast. Stars such as Beyonce, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney will be participating in Hurricane Harvey telethon on Sept. 12.
