]]>The new series, Steve on Watch is heading to the video-on-demand service operated by the social media giant, giving Harvey’s take on everyday life and “issues affecting his audience,” as well as interviews with performers, musicians, viral stars and others, per Variety.
“Reaching my audience anywhere and everywhere they are has always been the goal. Facebook Watch viewers are the most energetic, engaged community, and so are my amazing fans. Getting all those people to directly engage on a platform like this is the perfect evolution of the show,” said Harvey.
The move follows NBC’s decision to fill its prime daytime slots with new entry The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Steve on Watch is set to premiere January 6, 2020.

]]>The takeover will happen once the unscripted talent competition for kids series returns to NBC for its fourth season. Harvey emceed the series for its first three seasons.
“Melissa’s just an incredible performer and incredible comedian,” NBC’s co-chairman of entertainment Paul Telegdy said in a statement. He added that the 48-year-old funny woman “will bring a completely fresh perspective to it. “Melissa is a strong creative force with her own ideas. Changes will be apparent.”
According to Teledgy, the show will also undergo a number of format changes: “Shows always go through an evolution and I know Meredith and the team in our Alternative division will come up with all sorts of fun ways to evolve the creative of the show because we feel that Melissa is a strong creative force with her own ideas about what the show should look like and changes will be apparent.”
The series’ return date has yet to be confirmed.

Ellen DeGeneres, the host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, managed to claim the second spot on the list earning $87.5 million pretax. Besides the fee received from hosting the popular talk show, DeGeneres’ earnings were boosted by the $20 million check she received earlier this year for her Netflix stand-up special. She also earns millions in producer salaries and licensing fees.
Dr. Phil McGraw has a successful year behind him, starting several different ventures that helped him earn more than $77 million pretax. Besides hosting Dr. Phil, one of the most popular daytime talk shows on television, McGraw also increased his bank account by producing shows The Bull, The Doctors and Daily Mail TV as well as cofounding the app Doctors on Demand.
The list of highest paid TV hosts in 2018 concludes with American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest, who earned $74 million, and Family Feud’s Steve Harvey, who pocketed $44 million.
In order to compile the list, Forbes used data from Nielsen, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, alongside information from sources within the industry and estimated earnings from June 1, 2017, through June 1, 2018.
