Love Me is set long after humanity’s extinction, and it explores AI and identity through live-action, animatronics, and classic animation in an epic tale of connection and transformation.
“In a story that spans billions of years, a buoy and a satellite meet online long after humanity’s extinction. As they learn what life was like on Earth, they discover themselves and what it means to be alive and in love,” reads Bleecker Street’s official synopsis.
Love Me hails from first-time directors Sam and Andy Zuchero, and it had its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. It was honored with the Alfred P. Sloan Prize, bestowed on an outstanding feature film focusing on science or technology. Festival’s vice president Doron Weber praised it for exploring “the nature of human identity and our connection to each other in a post-human world mediated through AI.”
Love Me will be released theatrically on January 31 via Bleecker Street.
The Oscar-nominated actor joined this superhero flick last year in a mystery role, but his future in the MCU was jeopardized in the face of dual strikes. The film’s production date kept shifting, and Yeun eventually decided to call it quits and exit the project due to scheduling conflicts.
Yeun is fresh off starring in Netflix’s acclaimed mini-series Beef alongside Ali Wong, for which he received a Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominations. He’ll next star in the post-apocalyptic romance film Love Me alongside Kristen Stewart and Bong Joon-ho’s sci-fi flick Mickey 17, co-starring Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.
The cast of Thunderbolts remains pretty star-studded even after Yeun’s departure and includes the likes of Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, and Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. It will be released on July 25, 2025, as a part of the MCU’s Phase Six.
]]>Steven Yeun has been tapped to star in the upcoming Twilight Zone remake for CBS All Access. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Yeun will lead an episode titled “The Traveler.”
The Walking Dead star joins the previously announced John Cho (Searching), Allison Tolman (Fargo), Jacob Tremblay (Room), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley), Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) and Sanaa Lathan (The Affair), who have been tapped to star in the new anthology series
Oscar-winning director Peele is also executive producing the series and serving as the narrator.
