Corden’s first deal with the network expires at the end of the 2019-20 season and he is looking to ink a new multi-year deal with CBS. According to sources, both sides have been in negotiations for quite some time now. Variety reports that final terms were still being hammered out so there’s no certainty that the deal will close.
Corden first signed with the network back in 2014 taking over host duties from Craig Ferguson. Back then, Corden was an unknown personality from the UK so some would say that CBS took a big chance on him. But we can all agree now that that’s history — Corden is definitely delivering the goods with the show earning Emmy nominations for an outstanding talk-variety show for the past three years.
CBS would not comment, as negotiations are underway and a deal has yet to be reached.
]]>Corden took to Twitter to announce the exciting news and wrote, “Today we welcomed a beautiful baby daughter into the world. Both she and her mother are doing great. We can’t stop smiling.” Corden also thanked Harry Stiles for stepping in last minute to host the show.
It was confirmed in July that the two were expecting. The couple were married on September 15, 2012 and already have two children, Max (6) and Carey (3).
The Brit comedian has only recently become quite the hit in the US, rising to fame in the UK after his successful show Gavin and Stacey. In 2012 he won a Tony award for the Broadway show One Man, Two Gunners and in 2014 he landed a role in the big-screen adaptation of Into the Woods. Still relatively unknown in the States, everything changed once he landed the hosting gig of The Late Late Show in March 2105.
Congratulations to the recently turned family of five!

The clip of the 49-year-old Oscar winner re-acting some of the most memorable moments from her career aired during Wednesday’s The Late Late Show with host James Cordon.
As Cordon said, the video is indeed a celebration of Roberts’ impressive career, opening with a scene from Notting Hill, as she recites her iconic line, reminding fans that she’s just a girl, standing in front of a boy. Roberts went on to act out scenes from Mona Lisa Smile, Runaway Bride, Mystic Pizza, America’s Sweethearts and Eat Pray Love. Roberts came through recreating for fans one of her most memorable scenes from the Pretty Woman, delivering her iconic line perfectly. The two went to act snippets of scenes from Stepmom, Hook, Erin Brockovich, The Pelican Brief, and Sleeping With the Enemy.
When it was time to act out Oceans 11 and 12, Corden stepped out in quite an outfit. “What are you doing?” Roberts asked. “I’m being George Clooney! I’ve got coffee, tequila, a couple of these,” he said, knocking two twin baby dolls’ heads together.
The clip ends with the two acting out Robert’s 1997 rom-com My Best Friend’s Wedding. After delivering her line, Corden pulls out a microphone and starts singing, Say a Little Prayer, with Roberts picking up a mic of her own to join the sing-along.
Roberts’ upcoming film, Wonder opens in theaters November 17.
