Marvel has several promising movies on the way in 2025, including Thunderbolts*, which will see a group of our favorite vigilantes join forces to embark on an epic mission by each other’s side.
Gareth Edwards is getting ready to revive the Jurassic World franchise with this standalone sequel about a team of scientists trying to extract dinosaur DNA, led by Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey.
James Gunn created a lot of buzz for his version of Superman with a teaser trailer released this month, which sees Clark Kent trying to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with the way he was brought up on Earth.
July will be a great month for superhero movies and it will also mark the return of the Fantastic Four. Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play the members of this superhero team, as they try to protect their home from Galactus and the Silver Surfer.
After years in the making, the third film in the Avatar franchise is finally coming our way in December, and it will take us back to the mysterious land of Pandora.
]]>Edebiri, who recently won a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award for her role in The Bear, was cast in Thunderbolts in a mystery role last January. The project was repeatedly pushed due to dual strikes in Hollywood, and Edebiri decided to exit it due to scheduling conflicts.
She’ll be replaced by Geraldine Viswanathan, the star of the comedy film Blockers and anthology series Miracle Workers, who’ll soon star in Ethan Coen’s Drive-Away Dolls.
Viswanathan commented on the news by reposting Deadline’s initial casting report, followed by a caption “thank you to my friend Ayo Edebiri for being too booked.”
Edebiri isn’t the first A-list star to leave Thunderbolts due to scheduling conflicts. She’s following in the footsteps of the Oscar nominee Steven Yeun, who was promptly replaced by Lessons in Chemistry’s Lewis Pullman.
Despite Yeun and Edebiri’s departure, Thunderbolts remains as star-studded as it gets, and it will star Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, and Wyatt Russell as Agent John Walker.
]]>The Oscar-nominated actor joined this superhero flick last year in a mystery role, but his future in the MCU was jeopardized in the face of dual strikes. The film’s production date kept shifting, and Yeun eventually decided to call it quits and exit the project due to scheduling conflicts.
Yeun is fresh off starring in Netflix’s acclaimed mini-series Beef alongside Ali Wong, for which he received a Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominations. He’ll next star in the post-apocalyptic romance film Love Me alongside Kristen Stewart and Bong Joon-ho’s sci-fi flick Mickey 17, co-starring Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.
The cast of Thunderbolts remains pretty star-studded even after Yeun’s departure and includes the likes of Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, and Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. It will be released on July 25, 2025, as a part of the MCU’s Phase Six.
