Blue Bloods became one of CBS’s longest-running current dramas since its premiere in 2010, and it centered on the family of New York cops. Tom Selleck led the cast as the family patriarch Frank Reagan, alongside Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Len Cariou, and Will Estes.

CBS Entertainment’s president Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios’ president David Stapf confirmed that Blue Bloods is coming to an end, but added it will forever be a beloved part of CBS’s legacy.

“We’ll be forever grateful to the legendary Leonard Goldberg for developing this signature series and to the amazing cast led by Tom Selleck, who America embraced as a family and watched as welcomed guests at the Reagan dinner table,” said the duo in a joint statement.

Part 1 of the show’s final season will premiere on CBS and Paramount+ on February 16, and it will feature a total of ten episodes. Blue Bloods will get its farewell with the eight-episode Part 2, set to premiere in fall 2024.

The network decided to bring this show back after its biggest star, Tom Selleck, agreed to stay on board. He signed a new one-year deal to return for Season 10 in the role of police commissionaire and family patriarch Frank Reagan.

Renewing this series was a no-brainer for the network. According to CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl, Blue Bloods never failed to make it to the list of top rated shows airing on Friday night, and it attracted an impressive number of viewers over the years.

“On a night that many have claimed is quiet for broadcast television, its quality writing, superb acting and familial warmth have attracted an average of over 13 million passionate viewers each week for nine years,” explained Kahl in an official statement.
