]]>Rupert Grint, best known for his portrayal of Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, has joined the cast of Apple’s new psychological thriller series.
The series was created by Tony Basgallop (24) and M. Night Shyamalan (Unbreakable). The two will also serve as executive producers with Shyamalan set to direct the first episode. The series which received a straight-to-series order will be produced by Shyamalan’s Blinding Edge Pictures.
Grint has joined the previously announced Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) and Nell Tiger (Game of Thrones). While Apple has kept plot and character details well under wraps, Deadline reports that the untitled project will follow parents Dorothy (Ambrose) and Sean Turner, who have hired a nanny to help care for their newborn child. Grint will play Julian Pearce, Dorothy’s younger brother.

]]>Apple has just ordered a 10-episode straight-to-series order from M. Night Shyamalan and Tony Basgallop.
The still-untitled psychological thriller was created by Basgallop (24), who will serve as executive producer, as well as the one doing the writing; Shyamalan (Unbreakable) is executive producing and will direct the first episode.
This straight-to-order project joins Apple’s roster of originals including a Damien Chazelle drama series, an Amazing Stories reboot, a drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, a comedy series helmed by Kristin Wiig, a drama from Ron Moore, and a Steven Knight and Francis Lawrence drama, as well as green-lighting a docu-series titled Home from Matt Tyrnauer and Matthew Weaver.
