]]>Multiple outlets confirm that Tony Dalton has been promoted to series regular on the acclaimed Breaking Bad prequel, Better Call Saul. The permanent gig will kick into action in the forthcoming Season 5 of the show.
Dalton made his debut as villainous drug cartel member Lalo Salamanca, and nephew of Saul in the last three episodes of Season 4 of the show. According to Deadline, Lalo was first referenced in the season two episode of Breaking Bad when Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) was first introduced. Now, fans will get to see his villainous role expanding.
Better Call Saul, like its predecessor, received considerable critical acclaim. The series stars Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando, and Giancarlo Esposito.
Over three seasons it has earned 23 Emmy Award nominations, 3 Golden Globe Award nominations, 2 Writers Guild Awards, 3 Critics’ Choice Awards, a Television Critics Association Award and 2 AFI Awards.
Season 5 of Better Call Saul is set to make its return next year.
