It has been confirmed that Handler is signing off of the streaming service, canceling her show after a two-season run. This was announced by Handler herself via Twitter on Wednesday.

Since the last presidential elections, 42-year-old Handler has been a vocal opponent of POTUS, it came with little surprise that the announcement began with her citing politics as  a main reason for the discontinuation of the show.

“Like so many across the country, the past presidential election and the countless events that have unfolded since have galvanized me,” she wrote. “From the national level down to the grassroots, it’s clear our decisions at the ballot box next year will mark a defining moment for our nation. For these reasons, I’ve decided not to return for another season of Chelsea, and instead devote as much time as I can to becoming a more knowledgeable and engaged citizen and to focus on projects that have significance to me.”

Handler added that she would like to “gain a better understanding of our political divide,” and in order to do just that she has “joined forces with EMILY’s List to elect more women to public office.” The comedian concluded her statement stating that “Netflix could not be more understanding, and I’m grateful for their continued support.”

While it’s sad to see her go, the move is not all that surprising, especially for those who follow the evolution of the show’s second season and Handler’s desire to create a platform where she could talk to guests about important topics.

New episodes of Chelsea will continue to steam weekly through the end of the year.

Could sending Congress into space be next? Flanked at an Oval Office bill-signing ceremony by astronauts and lawmakers, Trump observed that being an astronaut is a “Pretty tough job.” He said he wasn’t sure he’d want it and, among lawmakers he put the question to, Sen. Ted Cruz said he wouldn’t want to be a space traveler, either.

“You could send Congress to space,” he said to laughter, including from the president.

“What a great idea that could be,” Trump said, before turning back to the space exploration measure sponsored by Cruz and Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla.

The new law authorizes $19.5 billion in spending for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for the budget year that began Oct. 1.

Cruz said the authorization bill is the first for the space agency in seven years, and he called it a “Terrific” achievement.

“I’m delighted to sign this bill. It’s been a long time since a bill like this has been signed, reaffirming our commitment to the core mission of NASA: human space exploration, space science and technology.” The measure amends current law to add human exploration of the red planet as a goal for the agency.

It supports use of the International Space Station through at least 2024, along with private sector companies partnering with NASA to deliver cargo and experiments, among other steps.

Nelson traveled into space when he was in the House.

Pence also announced that Trump plans to re-launch the National Space Council, with Pence as chairman, to coordinate U.S. space policy.
