Production of season 7 was also an exception as filming ran from September to February, premiering during the summer instead of in the spring.

It is known that the last season will be the shortest in terms of number of episodes. While the length of season 8’s episodes are rumored to be supersized, this has not been confirmed yet. However, since both the 6th and 7th season broke the longest episode ever records, it seems safe to assume that at least one of season’s 8 episodes will do the same.

The Modern Family pilot script made its way to the star of Friends during 2009, after the unsuccessful attempt at a Joey spinoff. LeBlanc told USA Today that the script “came across my desk with an offer to play Ty Burrell’s role,” the actor recalled his reaction, and added, “I remember reading it thinking, this is a really good script, (but) I’m not the guy for this. I’d be doing the project an injustice to take this. I know what I can do, I know what I can’t do. Plus, I’m having too much fun laying on the couch.”

Had he taken the role, it would have been a reunion for LeBlanc and Modern Family’s star Ed O’Neill who worked together shortly on the Married… With Children spinoff, Top of the Heap.

According to ET, the highly anticipated series tells the story of a young wannabe rapper named Courtney Rose (Brandon Michael Hall) who decides to run for Mayor in his hometown as a public strategy to create interest in his new mix-tape. But when he actually gets elected, he calls on his mother, Dina (Yvette Nicole Brown), and his friend Valentina (Michele) to help him become the kind of person who can help his community.

Michele opened up to ET about her new TV project at ABC’s TCA party in Los Angeles.

“It’s such an incredible show with such amazing heart,” she said. “The humorous fantastic corporation of music its really inspirational story and I’m really hoping that everyone is going to love it.”

The former Scream Queens star also revealed why she was attracted to playing the role of Valentina, who she described as “incredibly politically savvy.”

“I really love strong female characters and she has a strength to her that is palpable so I was very excited,” she said.

The Mayor premieres on Oct. 3 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Netflix announced that the 70-year-old comedian will return to the small screen and host a six-episode, hour-long series. Letterman will do what he does best and conduct “in-depth conversations with extraordinary people.”

After stepping down as the host of The Late Show, Letterman hinted earlier this year in an interview that he might return to television after taking a break from his 33 years as a late-night host. In the same interview he added that his interests has shifted and if he returns to do comedy, he won’t be interested in replicating what he had done in the past.

Letterman has already proved to fans that he hasn’t lost his touch; when speaking of his exciting new project with Netflix he said, “… if you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first.”

TV revivals are definitely this year’s thing. After we just found out Will & Grace was renewed for a season two months after the season one even aired, more exciting news is coming from NBC.

As Bob Greenblatt, NBC entertainment chairman, revealed for Deadline, the network is negotiating with the creators of The West Wing, The Office, 30 Rock, and ER about bringing their TV series back to the air. They all officially ended four or more years ago.

For now, it is most likely that we’ll see new episodes of The Office. Greenblatt pointed out that he has been discussing the show with creator Greg Daniels often: “I’ve talked to Greg four times over the past few years. It’s always, ‘Maybe some day but not now.'”

30 Rock creator Tina Fey reportedly responded with “I don’t know, maybe,” Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) reportedly said, “You know I love that show and some day I’d love to revisit it, but it’s not going to happen right now.” As for the ER, John Wells said, “There is nothing concrete.”

Earlier this year, fans got a sneak peek of the set and the show’s adorable star Iain Armitage, who plays the young Sheldon Cooper. The prequel follows young Sheldon and is narrated by Jim Parsons, who played adult Sheldon and is also the spinoff’s executive producer.

Portraying the 9-year-old nerdy genius was a bit of a challenge as some qualities that were portrayed by adult Sheldon simply don’t translate well to a young child. For example, while adult Sheldon can be horrible to his best friends but still be loved by the audience, the same behavior would simply make a child look bratty. At the Television Critics Association press tour, Lorre said that a decision was made to have the young Sheldon simply be naïve and nerdy rather than a cynical young boy.

Parsons said that watching a younger version of the character which he played for ten years was a revitalizing and fun experience.

Fans might be expecting some cameo performances, however, Lorre said that as of now, nothing like that has been planned. He added that perhaps some plot lines on the prequel will resonate in Big Bang, somewhat of a ripple effect as the shows will go forward in time.

“I don’t think he was scared [of me], because he’s been with me this whole journey. I, of course, told him what the book was, what it was about, what happens, so he has been in the know for a long time,” Biel said at the premiere of The Sinner in New York City on Monday.

“But I think it was definitely weird for him to see me like that,” she continued. “I hope that means that we’re doing a good job and we’re making it look really realistic.”

In the premiere episode’s opening minutes, Biel’s emotionally disturbed character, Cora Tannetti, stab a man to death on the beach in front of her family and dozens of witnesses, and has no idea why she did it.  The series was filled with psychologically challenging scenes but Biel said she have to put it behind her when she went home for the day.

“You don’t have a choice. It’s called get in the car, open the front door and you better be Mom, because nobody cares what you did all day. My work, I leave it at work,” the 35-year-old actress said. “I don’t bring it home.”

“I mean, yes, I’m exhausted and sometimes I need like, a glass of wine and to just hang out. But you got to let it go. You have a 2-year-old who just wants to play with you and that’s what’s most important,” she continued, referring to her and Timberlake’s son, Silas.

Biel is also one of The Sinner’s executive producers and she was one of the major forces into getting the eight-episode series on air. The series was adapted from a novel of the same name by author Petra Hammesfahr.

“Honestly I just was really interested in the book. The book was a compelling read, the character is so complicated and I liked the fact that she’s this unreliable narrator that you’re not quite sure when you can trust or if you can trust,” Biel explained. “Yet she’s very authentic to what she believes, so it was an incredibly interesting psychological challenge for me and seemed terrifying and seemed like a lot of fun.”

The series also stars Christopher Abbot, who plays Biel’s husband, Mason Tannetti, and Bill Pullman as Detective Harry Ambrose, who is investigating the crime she committed.

Biel also shared one of the physically challenging scenes where she and Pullman got into a wrestle and the actress leap on top of the 63-year-old actor and they ended up getting few scrapes along the way.

“There’s this one scene [where I] leap on top of him and I was encouraged by our [stunt team] to really go for it,” Biel said. “So we really went for it and we were both bruised and beat up by the end of the night.”

“I felt pretty bad about it, but he’s a very strong person and, you know, was obviously fine, but our jobs are weird. Sometimes we do weird stuff at work,” Biel continued.

Timberlake took to Instagram on Monday to send his love and support for his wife and her performance on the series.

“Ok, I know I’m not exactly fair and maybe biased here, but my wife’s new show – @thesinnerusa – is amazing,” the pop singer wrote. “It’s like nothing I’ve seen her in before, and she’s incredible in the role.”
