Just when we thought there was no record left for Taylor Swift to break in 2023, she managed to prove us wrong. The Grammy-winning hitmaker just made history as the first musician to ever be crowned as Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year”.

Barbie and Hollywood strikers made it to Time’s shortlist this year, but Swift managed to defeat them all. After selling out stadiums across America, topping the charts with both her albums and singles, and becoming a billionaire thanks to the success of The Eras Tour and accompanying concert film, Swift fully deserved the title of “Person of the Year”.

Swift is fully aware that it will be tough to replicate the success she found this year because “nothing is permanent”, but she intends to keep doing what she does best.

“I’m very careful to be grateful every second that I get to be doing this at this level, because I’ve had it taken away from me before. There is one thing I’ve learned: My response to anything that happens, good or bad, is to keep making things. Keep making art,” said Swift.

2023 will be a difficult year to repeat, but the record-breaking star has a lot to look forward to in the future. The Eras Tour will continue with new legs in Europe and North America, and she’s promising that the vault tracks from her upcoming Reputation re-recording are going to be “fire”.
