Taylor Swift’s fans spent almost a decade waiting to hear the full version of her hit song “All Too Well”, and she gave them something even better. The song’s extended 10-minute version now comes with an emotional short film, starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien.

The plot of the short film is based on the lyrics of “All Too Well”, and it shows the ups and downs of a young couple’s relationship. In addition to directing the short, Swift also appears as the older version of Sink’s character and she’s shown promoting a book that explores the heartache of her early twenties at the end of the video.

When discussing the short with Daily Pop, she described it as a coming-of-age film about a very specific time in someone’s life when you’re on the brink of turning 20.

“You have one foot in childhood and one in adulthood and you don’t quite know where to stand and how fragile that makes you in that moment. We go through life, we get our hearts broken, what does that give us, what does that take away. This is a film that asks those questions,” said Swift.

The “All Too Well” short accompanied the release of the singer’s re-recorded album Red (Taylor’s Version), which came out on November 12th and set several major Spotify records since its release.
