Taylor Swift Emotionally Addresses Anniversary of Lawsuit in Concert

August 14 will forever be an emotional day for the Grammy-winning songstress. The 28-year-old singer nearly broke down as she talked to her fans at a sold-out stadium in Tampa on Tuesday. Just a year ago, Swift was granted a symbolic $1 in her countersuit against radio DJ David Mueller.

While seated at the piano she said, “This exact day a year ago, I was not playing a sold-out stadium in Tampa. I was in a courtroom in Denver, Colorado… I was there for a sexual assault case, and this day a year ago was the day that the jury decided in my favor and said that they believed me.”

Swift continued to the background of applause from the audience, “I just think about all the people that weren’t believed and the people who haven’t been believed, or the people who are afraid to speak up because they think they won’t be believed.”

As she was speaking, concert-goers showed their support by holding up $1 bills. Swift chocked up and concluded by saying “Sorry, I just haven’t really talked about it, and so I’m just not composed at all.”
