Taylor Swift surprised fans with special impromptu Pride Month performance.
The pop icon dropped by the Stonewall Inn in New York’s Greenwich Village Friday night. The LGBTQ rights landmark was celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall uprising — enter Swift with a special surprise performance.
The Grammy-winning artist was introduced to the stage by Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson. He later tweeted, “I’m so happy I don’t have to keep this secret any longer. Look who came to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Stonewall at the Stonewall Inn. @taylorswift13, you are a gem. Thank you for everything you do for the LGBTQ community. We heart you!”
Ferguson joined Swift for an extra energetic rendition of “Shake It Off.”
“I heard that this is Jesse’s favorite song to do at karaoke. So if there’s anything you feel like you want to jump in on, if there’s like, your part that you’re really good at, then, just sing, dance, just be yourself. This is a really safe space,” Swift said.
Swift recently released a new single from her upcoming album, Lover, which is scheduled to come out August 23.
