Rapper Cardi B thanked Taylor Swift on Instagram on Thursday for a bouquet of flowers she sent her for topping the Billboard 100 chart with her song “Bodak Yellow.”
“Sooo beautiful and lovely,” Cardi captioned the photo. “Thank you @taylorswift for the flowers … and I freaking love your music.”
In an interview with Billboard, the 24-year-old rapper expressed her feelings after she topped the chart knocking Swift out of the number one spot, saying, “The thing is, I used to be mad, like, ‘Damn, why’d I have to beat Taylor Swift?’ I like her, I like that damn song,” and she sang a piece of “Look What You Made Me Do.”
According to Billboard, “LWYMMD” held the No. 1 spot for three weeks before “Bodak Yellow” took over. Swift’s single from Reputation now holds the No. 3 position, behind Cardi’s song and Post Malone’s “Rockstar,” featuring 21 Savage.
It seems that Swift is in a supportive mood as she also sent flowers to Victoria Arlen on her birthday, after the Dancing With The Star’s contestant danced a tango to “LWYMMD” on Monday night’s show.
On Tuesday, after Arlen and her dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy performed a rumba set, the pair joined co-host Erin Andrews backstage, where she presented the birthday celebrant with a bouquet of flowers and a heartwarming message from Swift.
“Victoria, you are incredible and I was so honored you danced to my song. I’m so inspired by you. Love, Taylor,” Arlen read aloud.
“I danced to her song ’22’ when I turned 22 my last birthday, so I danced to her yesterday for this birthday,” the ESPN host explained.
Arlen also talked to ET’s Cameron Mathison about the surprise.
“That was insane! That was really cool,” the 23-year-old former Paralympian gushed. “I don’t think cool is a cool enough word for it.”
Chmerkovskiy added, “I felt special for her. I was like, ‘Damn! That means Taylor saw me, too!”
