Taylor Swift will perform at the 2019 MTV VMAs

Swifties rejoice!

Taylor Swift has booked her televised performance following the release of her seventh studio album Lover. The highly anticipated album drops on August 23, just three days before the pop icon is set to take the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards stage.

That’s right — ten years after her first VMAs performance, and sporting a whopping ten nods for her singles, Taylor Swift is taking the VMAs stage once again. It is still unknown which songs she will perform, but the basically concurrent release of Lover, most likely means that it’ll feature in her set.

News that the 29-year-old singer is set to perform was announced by the network on Wednesday. The awards show will take place on August 26 and will be broadcast live from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Swift is the first artist to be confirmed to perform in the upcoming music awards show. Watch MTV’s announcement below.
