The Chainsmokers Dethrone Calvin Harris as Highest-Paid DJs

The Chainsmokers are officially the world’s highest-paid DJs.

Calvin Harris’ six-year reign during at the No. 1 spot of the top of Forbes’ Highest-Paid DJs list, is over. According to multiple outlets, The Chainsmokers are now the world’s top earners in the category.

The duo — Drew Taggart and Alex Pall — earned $46 million over the past 12 months. Harris dropped to No. 3 with $38.5 million, behind the masked DJ Marshmello, who earned $40 million, which secured him the No. 2 spot. Rounding out the top 5 are Steve Aoki and Diplo, with $30 million and $25 million respectively.

The duo’s latest album release was in April 2017, but they have dropped multiple singles — five so far, this year. They’re also known for their high-profile collaborations with artists such as Coldplay and Halsey.

“We work with artists because it makes sense [and] because we’re excited about them,” Pall told Forbes in 2017. “Anytime we work with someone, it’s because they offer something to us creatively that inspires us.”
