“The Deuce” Coming Back to HBO for Third and Final Season

The Deuce is one of most critically acclaimed TV shows airing on HBO right now, but all good things must come to an end. This gripping drama will officially wrap up after its upcoming third season.

HBO’s hit series takes a look at nightlife in New York City during the ‘70s and ‘80s. It stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, who received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.

It started airing in 2017, but the network felt it’s time to bring it to a closure. An insider claimed this series was always envisioned to go on for three seasons. Show’s co-creator David Simon pretty much confirmed it in his farewell tweet.

“We’re always conjuring the last scene before we write the first. So much the better when we work for people who allow us to consistently plan, arc and execute as intended. Thanks, HBO, for the third and final season renewal and the chance for The Deuce to tell its full story,” wrote Simon on Twitter.
