Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in "The Devil Wears Prada"

The Broadway-bound adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada has found its director.

Multiple outlets confirm that Tony Award-winner, Anna D. Shapiro was announced Wednesday by producers Kevin McCollum, Fox Stage Productions and Rocket Entertainment as the production’s director.

Shapiro took home a Tony in 2008 for August: Osage County. She was also nominated for directing The Motherf*cker with the Hat in 2011.

The musical is based on Lauren Weisberger’s best-selling 2003 novel and the 2006 film starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, about an aspiring writer who works for a magazine editor from hell. The musical will feature music by Sir Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub, and book by Paul Rudnick.

“I am truly honored to be a part of this incredible project,” Shapiro said in a statement. “Working with Shaina, Paul, and Sir Elton has already proven to be one of the great thrills of my career, and I look forward to bringing Lauren’s beloved world to the stage.”

According to the producers, the production plan and casting will be announced at a later date.
