The first official trailer for Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep is finally here.
The clip introduces The Shining’s Danny Torrance, played by Ewan McGregor, all grown and deeply disturbed.
First a quick recap — the film is an adaptation of King’s 2013 horror novel, which is also the sequel to The Shining. Danny, now an adult, is battling a drinking problem and the emergence of strange powers. He then meets a young girl named Abra Stone (Kyliegh Curran) with similar abilities who is being hunted by a mysterious group that grows stronger by killing others with magical powers.
“When I was a kid, I bumped into these things. I don’t know about magic. I always called it the shining,” Danny says in the trailer. The trailer also flashes iconic scenes from the haunted Overlook Hotel including the old woman in the bathtub, the Grady twins in the hallway and the blood tidal wave.
Doctor Sleep hits theaters November 8.
