The Mandalorian made quite a splash when it premiered on Disney+ almost five years ago, and its next chapter will be the most spectacular one yet. The Mandalorian & Grogu are coming to the big screen in the next Star Wars movie, which hails from director and producer Jon Favreau.

Since its premiere in 2019, The Mandalorian has chronicled the adventures of the lone bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and the Force-sensitive child Grogu, who he’s trying to save from Imperial forces after being hired to hunt him down.

The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau is returning to direct and produce this project, and he said that “the prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, also released a statement confirming this project, saying, “Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.”

The Mandalorian became a smash hit following its premiere in 2019 and produced three seasons so far. The success of this series led to several interconnected spin-offs that expanded the world of the original show, including The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and the upcoming Skeleton Crew.
