The New “Current War” Trailer is Here

The new Current War trailer is finally here.

The Marin Scorcese-produced thriller has a new official trailer that lets us glimpse into the dramatic 19th century battle over electricity.

The film starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Thomas Edison, Nicholas Hoult as Nikola Tesla, and Michael Shannon as George Westinghouse, made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival two years ago.

The trailer features Edison, Westinghouse and Tesla duke it out in what would be known as “the war of the currents.”

“This is a battle of the greatest minds of America,” Edison says. Westinghouse adds, “If you want to be remembered, it’s simple: Shoot a president. But if you prefer to have what I call a legacy, you leave the world a better place than you found it.”

The historical drama was directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon from a script by Michael Mitnick.

The Current War will start playing for audiences in October.
