After years in the making, Avatar: The Way of Water is finally hitting theaters next month. Expectations are running high for this highly-anticipated sequel and James Cameron just added some more fuel to the fire with a newly-released official trailer that takes us back to Pandora.

According to its official synopsis, Avatar: The Way of Water is set over a decade after the events of the first film and it begins to tell the story of the Sully family, “the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.”

Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña reprise their roles from the first film, as Jake Sully and Sam Worthington, with Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Stephen Lang, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, and Matt Gerald in supporting roles.

With a production budget of $250 million, Avatar: The Way of Water is one of the most expensive movies ever made, and the new trailer showcases the amazing graphics that have to be seen on the big screen. The film will arrive in the theatres on December 16 after multiple delays, and three more sequels are currently in development.
