“The Royals” Officially Canceled After Four Seasons

The reign of the Henstridge family is finally over since The Royals failed to find a new home after E! decided to cancel it. The palace has closed the gate for one last time after Lionsgate TV announced the series won’t be coming back for Season 5.

The Royals was the first scripted series to ever air on E! It followed trials and tribulations of a fictional royal family in modern-day England. Elizabeth Hurley led the cast and William Moseley, Alexandra Park, Jake Maskall and Tom Austen were there to support her every step of the way.

E! announced The Royals won’t be coming back for another season about a month ago, but Lionsgate TV came to the rescue. They picked up the series, in the hope their sister network Pop will be able to bring it back for another season.

Their negotiations didn’t lead to a happy conclusion, and Lionsgate was forced to cancel The Royals once again – this time for good.

“Loyals, we’re so thankful for your undying support of The Royals, but sadly our reign has officially come to an end. It has been a true privilege to bring this series to life and to work with such an amazing cast and crew on 4 incredible seasons!” read the official statement on Lionsgate’s Twitter account.
