“Tom & Jerry” Movie on the Way for 2021 Release

The famous cat & mouse duo is officially on its way to the big screen!

The still untitled Tom and Jerry movie for Warner Bros Animation Group will be helmed by Tim Story (Ride Along, Shaft). According to Deadline, the film, set to be a live-action and animated hybrid, is expected to hit theaters in spring on 2021.

Tom & Jerry first appeared in the ‘40s from animation duo William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Hanna and Barbera then introduced more beloved characters to the animated television world including The Flintstones, Scooby Doo, The Smurfs, The Jetsons, and The Super Friends.

The studio also announced an untitled Sesame Street feature is set for release in two years. 

According to sources, Sesame Street will begin shooting in June and will be released January 2021. Jonathan Krisel has been set as director. The revival will bring everyone’s favorite characters to the big screen including Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Elmo and many more. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Anne Hathaway is on board to star.
