Toni Braxton announces first solo album in 8 years

Tony Braxton is back on the radar!

The 50-year-old singer has announced Monday that she is releasing her first solo album in 8 years. This also happens to be the 25th anniversary of her debut self-titled album.

The upcoming new album will be the singer’s 9th studio album. Titled Sex and Cigarettes, it will drop on March 23 by Def Jam.

Braxton celebrated this official return to music with a release of a new single, “Long as I live.” The album also includes a duet with fellow Grammy-winner Colbie Caillat, and the single “Heart Away” featuring Braxton’s rapper boyfriend Birdman.

The R&B singer is also planning to go on tour. Braxton has stayed out of the spotlight due to years of struggles with lupus. She is now set to perform on a North American tour this spring.

She recently told PEOPLE, “I feel so blessed because the doctors told me I would never be able to perform, I would never be able to travel or anything, but, you know, whole different plan for me.”

It’s definitely time to have our heart un-broken!
