Amazon Studios chief reassures fans that they will get the closure they long for.
After months of uncertainty following sexual misconduct allegation and the consequent exit of Jeffrey Tambor from Transparent, Amazon execs confirm that the show will return for season five.
While not a very revealing statement its good enough for fans as Amazon Studios chief Jennifer Salke confirmed that “[they] are planning a season 5 of the show. It exists. We know exactly what it is creatively.”
“Jill Soloway came in with something she’s excited about that [goes] beyond Transparent,” teased Salke at the annual Television Critics Association tour at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on Saturday. “So stay tuned in the next week or two for something we are incredibly excited about. It’s all good. We will give Transparent fans the closure they long for and do what is right for those fans.”
Tambor played lead character Maura Pfefferman and prior to his firing won two Emmys for the role.
