“Ugly Delicious” Gets Renewed For Season 2 at Netflix

In the past couple of years, Netflix managed to build a respectable portfolio of culinary shows, and it looks like the streaming service is set on giving their subscribers more quality food-related content. Netflix announced that they have renewed food and travel show Ugly Delicious, hosted by popular chef David Chang, for season two.

While the release date for the second season is still to be revealed, we should expect new episodes in the spring of 2019.

Chang confirmed the news via his official Instagram, posting a video in which his mother makes a short break from cooking Thanksgiving dinner to deliver the announcement.

Ugly Delicious premiered on Netflix in February 2018 and followed David Chang as he explored “the cultural, sociological, and culinary history of a specific popular food” like pizza, BBQ, tacos and pasta in each episode. The show featured several guests who joined Chang including talks show host Jimmy Kimmel, actors Ali Wong, Eric Wareheim, and Steve Yuen, as well as food critic Jonathan Gold and chefs Roy Choi and Nina Compton. The reviews for Ugly Delicious were mostly positive, with critics calling it “maddeningly good.”

David Chang is known for being the founder of the Momofuku restaurant group and for his frequent television appearances. Chang appeared in HBO’s drama Treme and was a judge on several culinary competitive shows like Top Chef: All Stars and MasterChef Australia.
