Vin Diesel shared an old photo of himself and co-stars Tyrese Gibson and the late Paul Walker on Instagram on Thursday, captioning it simply “Brotherhood…”
The post came right after Gibson publicly slammed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, his Fast 8 co-star, for apparently holding up the next installment of the franchise.
Variety reported that Fast 9 was scheduled to premiere in April 2019, but has been delayed for unspecified reasons.
However, shortly after, the news that the Dwayne Johnson/Jason Stathamspinoff was taking over Fast 9 2019 release date and would be hitting theaters first.
Gibson went on Instagram to write: “Congratulations to @TheRock and your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU.”
