Viola Davis Wreaks Vengeance in New “Widows” Trailer

Viola Davis isn’t a lady you’d want to cross and the same thing can be said about her character in crime drama Widows. A new trailer for the upcoming movie just dropped, and it seems like the Oscar-winning actress might collect another shiny statue.

This exciting project tells the tale of four women who decide to join forces and avenge the deaths of their husbands. Davis portrays Veronica Rawlins, leader of the unlikely band of friends, who share a very special bond. They choose to take fate into their own hands and finish the heist that killed their loved ones.

The riveting plot isn’t the only thing that makes Widows an absolute must-watch. Its star-studded cast is even more impressive, and it consists of more Hollywood big shots than anyone can count. Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and newcomer Cynthia Erivo will play the eponymous widows. This Oscar darling also stars Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya and Robert Duvall.

Steve McQueen, the director behind the Oscar-winning epic 12 Years a Slave, is helmer of the upcoming film. He co-wrote the script with Gillian Flynn, bestselling author of Gone Girl. You’ll have to wait for a few more months to see what these two creative masterminds came up with since Widows won’t premiere until November 16.
