Watch the First Trailer for “AHS: 1984”

The first full-length trailer for the upcoming installment in the acclaimed horror franchise is here.

The trailer for season nine of FX’s American Horror Story anthology series was unveiled by series co-creator Ryan Murphy on his Instagram.

AHS: 1984 is set at the fictional Camp Redwood and stars Emma Roberts, Matthew Morrison, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, Gus Kenworthy, Angelica Ross, DeRon Horton, Zach Villa, and John Carroll Lynch.

The trailer identifies the season’s ‘80s-styler slasher killer as Mr. Jingles. Mr. Jingles is a patient who escaped from a nearby psychiatric hospital and his preferred MO is slashing throats.

Sitting out the season are franchise leads Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.

Peters previously told GQ: “I’m going to sit a season out. It’s just exhausting. It’s really mentally draining, and you don’t want to go to those places ever in your life,” he told the magazine. “And so, you have to go there for the scenes, and it ends up integrating it somehow into your life. You’re in traffic and you find yourself screaming and you’re like, ‘What the hell? This isn’t who I am.’”

According to sources, despite officially not cast in the season, it is likely Paulson will make an appearance.
