“Will & Grace” Star Megan Mullally to Host 2019 SAG Awards

Shortly after we found out who are the nominees for the 2019 SAG Awards, the SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) went on to reveal the host of the ceremony. Actress Megan Mullally, best known for her role of Karen Walker in comedy Will & Grace, will take on the hosting duties at the awards’ ceremony which will be held next month.

Mullally will become only the second host in SAG Awards history, following Veronica Mars star Kirsten Bell who hosted in 2018. Prior to Bell, the ceremony didn’t have a host.

“We are delighted to have the talented, warm and funny Megan Mullally to host the SAG Awards silver anniversary,” said SAG Awards’ executive producer Kathy Connell in a statement. “This is a very special year, and we are all looking forward to a memorable show.”

Besides her role in Will & Grace, for which she won two Emmy Awards, Megan Mullally also starred in several other television projects including Parks and Recreation, Bob’s Burgers, and 30 Rock. She also starred in numerous movies including Smashed, The Kings of Summer, and The Disaster Artist.

“As a frustrated casting director and full-on fangirl of great actors everywhere, I’m over the moon to be a part of the SAG Awards 25th Anniversary,” said Mullally of her hosting gig.

2019 SAG Awards are scheduled to take place on January 27 at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
