Will Smith shared the first photo of the cast of Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin, where he is set to play the beloved Genie.
“We just started shooting Aladdin and I wanted to intro you guys to our new family… Mena Massoud/Aladdin, Naomi Scott/Princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari/Jafar, and I’m over here gettin my Genie on. Here we go!” he captioned the snapshot.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film also stars Navid Negahban as the Sultan and will feature new characters like Dalia, Princess Jasmine’s hand maiden and confidante (Nasim Pedrad an) and Prince Anders, a suitor from Skanland and prospective husband for Princess Jasmine (played by Billy Magnussen).
E! News reports that the movie will include two new music from Alan Menken and Tony Award-winning songwriters of Dear Evan Hansen, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Aladdin is currently filming in London and no release date has been set yet.
