Willow Shields Joins Netflix’s Drama Series “Spinning Out”

The Hunger Games alum has joined the cast of Spinning Out, Netflix’s ice skating drama series.

Willow Shields, best known for her role as Primrose Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise, has been cast in a series regular role opposite Kaya Scodelario, whose casting as the series lead was confirmed just last Thursday. Scodelario took over from Emma Roberts, who exited the project due to a scheduling conflict.

The series follows Kat Baker (Scodelario), an up-and-coming, high-level single skater who’s about to turn in her skates after a disastrous fall took her off the competition track when she seizes an opportunity to continue her career as a pair skater. Shields will star as Serena, Kat’s younger sister. While Serena lacks her sister’s natural grace on the ice, she makes up for it with discipline and fierce determination.

The series was created by Samantha Stratton, a former competitive figure skater herself. She will also serve as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Lara Olsen.

Netflix has ordered 10 episode of Spinning Out.
