Disney has given us one of their most beloved TV shows with Wizards of Waverly Place, and its follow-up is just around the corner! A potential sequel series is currently in development, and Selena Gomez and David Henrie will return as Alex and Justin Russo in the pilot episode.

The pilot will shift focus from Alex to her brother Justin Russo, who decided to leave his wizard powers behind after a mysterious incident at WizTech. He tries to lead a simple life with his family—until a powerful young wizard shows up at his door, asking for help.

Janice LeAnn Brown (Just Roll with It) will lead the series in the role of Billie, the young wizard who inspires Justin to embrace his past and ensure the future of the Wizard World. Alkaio Thiele (Call Me Kat) and Mimi Gianopulos (American Princess) will also star in supporting roles.

Selena Gomez, who got her big break with the role of Alex Russo in the original Wizards of Waverly Place, will also be back for the pilot. She’ll guest star and serve as one of its executive producers, alongside its creators Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who also happen to be the masterminds behind Disney’s spin-off Raven’s Home.
