Wonder Woman sequel: a major character returns

Director Patty Jenkins took to social media and shared some first-look imaged of the Wonder Woman sequel and revealed a major plot twist.

The official stills from the film’s production were tweeted by director Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot which means that filming of the sequel is officially underway. The official title was also revealed: Wonder Woman 1984.

The first image is of female-lead Gal Gadot standing in front of a bank of TVs full of retro pop culture. For those who don’t remember, Trevor sacrificed himself in the first Wonder Woman movie.

So how did Trevor make it to the sequel set almost 70 years later in 1984 and in the US? Let’s just say that the DC Comics film universe we have seen stranger feats.

According to Warner Bros., filming will take place in Washington DC, Alexandria, Virginia, the UK, Spain, and the Canary Islands.

Wonder Woman was released in 2017 and grossed a whopping $822 million at the box office. Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled to be released November 1, 2019.
