X-Files actress who played show’s most notorious role returns in upcoming 11th season

It began more than 20 years ago, but the hit sci-fi thriller series is returning to the small screen with an 11th season of The X-Files commissioned. The show’s stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are coming back for the upcoming season, which will consist of 10 episodes.

Karin Konoval (The Planet of the Apes trilogy) appeared in the 1996 X-files series as the shows most notorious character: a mutant-breeding amputee kept under a bed in ‘Home.’ The episode was so disturbing that for years, Fox declined to re-air it, even though it was considered one of the show’s finest hours.

It has been confirmed that Konoval will return to next year’s 11th season of the X-Files. The show will feature the actress in multiple roles, as show-runner, Chris Carter teases: While Karen Konoval won’t be reprising her role as the mother-under-the-bed in the fan-favorite episode ‘Home,’ she will be returning in a tour-de-force performance in an early episode. Or, more accurately–performances.”

Returning alongside Duchovny and Anderson, are longtime co-stars Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis and Annabeth Gish. From season 10, Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose are coming back. Joining new to the show are Barabra Hershey and Brian Huskey.

The X-Files is returning for 10 episodes sometime during midseason on Fox.
