“Zombieland 2” Director Reveals New Details about the Movie

Although lots of fans were afraid that the reports of Zombieland 2 being in the works are too good to be true, it looks like the highly anticipated sequel to 2009’s Zombieland is really happening. Ruben Fleischer, who is returning as a director, recently shared some exciting news about the project revealing that the shooting will start in Georgia in January 2019.

“I’m thrilled. We’re already actually starting Zombieland,” said Fleischer in a recent interview with Fandango. “I’ve been scouting and storyboarding and getting it going, and to get to work with that cast again is just an absolute dream come true. It’s been really exciting starting to think about that movie, and to get to work with Emma, Jesse, Woody and Abigail once again is truly a dream come true. Yeah, we’re just at the very early stages, but we have an amazing script, and we’re going to start shooting in Georgia in January.”

Zombieland 2 will see the same faces reprising their roles from the original including Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin returning as Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock. Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the duo who scripted Zombieland and later went on to work on Deadpool, will work on the sequel as well.

While the details about Zombieland 2 are currently being kept under wraps, it is rumored that our happy bunch will have a lot harder task of getting rid of the zombies this time around. We’ll have to wait October 11, 2019, and see it for ourselves in theaters.
