2,600 Members of the Public Were Invited to the Royal Wedding

Another royal wedding update!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has decided to extend an invitation to their wedding to members of the public.

In addition to their family and friends, more than 2,500 members of the public have been invited to attend the much anticipated nuptials, to watch the arrivals of the bride and groom at Windsor Castle

The announcement that 2,640 additional guests will be in attendance came Friday. A lucky few will also get a chance for an up-close view, as they will enter the chapel to view the carriage procession as it departs from the castle.

The announcement was made in the Palace’s official Twitter account.

“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle would like their wedding day to be shaped to allow members of the public to share in the joy and the fun of the day,” the first tweet read. In a threat of tweets, Kensington Palace shared what kind of people Harry and Meghan would like to have join them on their special day.

“The couple has asked that 1,200 people, from all corners of the UK be selected by Lord Lieutenants, include young people who have shown strong leadership and those who have served their communities. Also invited into the castle grounds are 200 people from charities and organisations close to Prince Harry and Ms. Markle, including those which Prince Harry serves as Patron. Other guests will include 100 pupils from two local schools, 610 Windsor Castle community members and 530 Members of The Royal Household and The Crown Estate.”

As the big day approaches, the countdown to the year’s biggest wedding gets more and more interesting including the most recent hint from Mel B that the Spice Girls might perform on the day.
