A “Sandman” TV Series is a Go at Netflix

Neil Gaiman’s Sandman is coming to the small screen.

Netflix and Warner Bros. TV have teamed up to bring us a television adaptation of the comic book series from DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint.

News of the forthcoming live-action TV series follows New Line’s failed attempt to turn the graphic novel into a feature film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is the most expensive TV series that DC Entertainment has ever done.

Penning the series is Wonder Woman and Grey’s Anatomy Allan Heinberg. Heinberg will also serve as showrunner with Gaiman set to executive produce alongside David Goyer.

The Sandman, which spanned 75 issues, centers on Morpheus, an ancient, powerful being, one of the Endless, a set of seven siblings that includes Delirium, Desire, Destruction, Despair, Destiny, and Death.
