Adam West, known as the original TV “Batman”, has died on Friday aged 88.
Variety reported that the actor’s rep confirmed he passed away from leukemia.
West’s family shared a statement and a tweet from his account:
“Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight, and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives. He was and always will be our hero.”
West was working until his death, recently on a mega-popular “Family Guy”, where he played a character named after him. The animated Adam West suffered numerous catastrophes but remained alive every time.
The actor also appeared as himself at “The Big Bang Theory” and “30 Rock”.
