“Black Panther” Wins Top Honor at 2019 NAACP Image Awards

It’s been over a year since Black Panther hit theaters, but that’s not stopping it from getting more recognition in the form of awards. Marvel’s smash hit was one of the biggest winners at this year’s NAACP Image Awards.

Black Panther slayed the movie field, coming out victorious in all the categories it was nominated for. In addition to being named outstanding motion picture, this superhero flick also won the awards for best actor (Chadwick Boseman), supporting actor (Michael B. Jordan), supporting actress (Danai Gurira) and acting ensemble – and the list goes on!

When it comes to the TV categories, ABC sitcom Black-ish dominated in this field. It won the award for the best comedy series, while its stars Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Marcus Scribner and Marsai Martin were all honored in their respective acting categories.

NAACP Image Awards once again took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and honored the amazing accomplishment of people of color in television, music, literature and film.
