Chris Cornell’s Cause of Death: Suicide by Hanging

Chris Cornell’s cause of death has been revealed and confirmed by the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.

As E! News reported, the official cause of death of the Soundgarden frontman was suicide by hanging. Also, while the examiners found drugs in the late singer’s system, they “did not contribute to the cause of death.”

Cornell was found dead on May 18 at 12:05 a.m. in his hotel room at the MGM Grand Hotel, right after a concert in Detroit.
