As Variety reports, Daniel Day-Lewis is retiring from acting. The 60-year-old three-time Oscar winner will retire after his final film is released. It’s a (still untitled) drama set in the high fashion world, scheduled to premiere in December this year.
Day-Lewis didn’t precise the reason for his retirement. His spokeswoman, Leslee Dart, confirmed the news:
“Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor. He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.”
