A tiny club show brought with it some big news for Green Day fans.
Tuesday was a day full of announcements for the funk group who unveiled the title and release date of their new album and confirmed that they will be going on tour with Weezer and Fall Out Boy.
Their 13th studio album titled Father of All… will be released on February 7, 2020. They invited their fans to “let the hysteria commence!” taking to Twitter adding that the record “is The New! soul, Motown, glam and manic anthemic. Punks, freaks, and punishers! The Dirty messy. The Stink. The lyrics are like a party and lifestyle of not giving a f—ck. The life AND death of the party. Not political. Surviving in chaos. The real shit.”
Later that day at West Hollywood’s tiny Whisky-a-Go-Go club Billie Joe Armstrong announced the triple-header summer tour. The tour kicks off in Singapore March 8, 2020, and closes on August 29, in Philadelphia.
“I want to say one thing on behalf of the three bands of the Hella Mega Tour: You’re welcome, “because rock ‘n’ roll is f—ing alive And you’ve got to get every ounce of it, all the time!”
Tickets for The Hella Mega Tour go on sale at 10 a.m. time September 20.
