Horror Anthology “Channel Zero” Canceled after 4 Seasons

If you were hoping to see the fifth season of Nick Antosca’s horror anthology series Channel Zero, we have some bad news. Syfy decided to cancel the series after four seasons, with Antosca confirming the news via social media.

“After 4 seasons, Channel Zero is no more at SYFY,” Antosca posted on Instagram. “I loved making this show and I would have loved to do more… but I can’t complain too much about doing 4 stories I loved with people who I loved working with.”

Antosca went on to thank the show’s writers, actors, artists, and the rest of the crew that worked on the project.

“I’m deeply grateful for this experience,” he finished. “Especially to everybody who watched and talked about and wrote about the show. There are stories we didn’t get to tell and creatures you didn’t get to see, but still might.”

Syfy ordered the first two seasons of Channel Zero back in 2016, with Nick Acosta serving as the series’ writer, showrunner and executive producer. The show received praise from the critics, but it never attracted a large audience. Despite this, the network followed their original order by renewing the show for two additional seasons in 2017.

Each installment of Channel Zero was based on a particular “creepypasta” with Kris Straubs’ Candle Cove, Brian Russell’s No-End House, Kerry Hammond’s  Search and Rescue Woods, and Charlotte Bywater’s Hidden Door.
