Iconic Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis moves to DC

Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis is jumping ship!

The iconic writer and the creator of Jessica Jones, Miles Morales and more, moves to DC Entertainment.

Even though comic creators move between different publishers all the time, this was quite big news as Bendis’ move is a special case. DC revealed in a tweet that they had signed Bendis to an exclusive deal. This means that after 17 years writing for Marvel, creating and revitalizing characters who have gone to play big parts onscreen, Bendis is jumping ship.

In their statement on Twitter DC said, “We are beyond thrilled to welcome Brian Michael Bendis exclusively to the DC family with a multiyear, multi-faceted deal. He’s one of the premier writers in the industry, having created so many unforgettable stories wherever he’s been and we can’t wait to see what he has planned for the DC universe.”

Bendis confirmed the news in a tweet of his own, “this is real. I love you all. Change is good. Change is healthy. I am bursting with ideas and inspiration. Details to come! Stay tuned!”

Fans are eager to see who will be taking over Bendis’ Marvel creation and what he will be writing for DC.
