The very-much sought after actor, Idris Elba, is in talks to join Fox’s adaptation of Mouse Guard.
The live-action feature based on David Peterson’s Mouse Guard series is described as Game of Thrones with mice. The series, created, penned and illustrated by Peterson, tells the story of a brotherhood of mice sworn to serve their fellow mice in a medieval world.
Should he join the production, Elba will star opposite Andy Serkis and Thomas Brodie-Sangster who are already on the call sheet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elba is in final negotiations to star as legendary champion Celanawe, “an Obi-Wan Kenobi-like figure who was once a legendary champion and now thought long gone.” Serkis is set to portray the villainous blacksmith Midnight and Brodie-Sangster will play Lieam, one of the Mouse Guard’s youngest members, who must prove his bravery.
Set to direct Fox’s adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic is Wes Ball (Maze Runner).
