LeBron James will do another great thing for his hometown of Akron – this time, he’s about to open a public school for at-risk kids.
His Family Foundation has a plan to open the school to kids in 3rd and 4th grade in the fall next year, and expand to all grades by 2022.
The focus of the project will be on kids in a similar tough situation as James was when he was growing up. He said: “This school is so important to me because our vision is to create a place for the kids in Akron who need it most — those that could fall through the cracks if we don’t do something.”
