Steven Spielberg’s “Masters of the Air” is Coming to Apple TV+

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks’ third installment in the Band of Brothers and The Pacific is coming to Apple TV+.

The Masters of the Air WWII miniseries has found a new home in Apple’s forthcoming streaming service. Based on the book of the same name by Donald L. Miller, the miniseries focuses on American bombers during the war.

Unlike the first two parts, which aired on HBO, the network decided to pass on the project. “After careful consideration, HBO decided not to move forward with Masters of the Air. We look forward to our next collaboration with Playtone and Amblin,” a statement issued by the premium cabler read.

Gary Goetzman, Spielberg and Hanks’ collaborator on the two previous installments, will also executive produce, with Hanks and Goetzman’s Playtone and Spielberg’s Amblin Television producing the series with Apple.

Apple TV+ launches November 1.
